Pilgrim’s Progress Lecture: The Enchanted Ground - Tom Sullivan / Puritan Reformed Audio Books In this lesson, we sought to learn about what the Enchanted Ground represents. First, in a society or town, 2ndly in the church, 3rd in the individual believer. It also is a very basic introduction to declension in spirituality prior to the 1st and 2nd Great Awakening and the revivals that came after in answer to prayer. John Bunyan wrote The Pilgrim's Progress in two parts, of which the first appeared at London in 1678,which he had begun during his imprisonment in 1676. The second part appeared in 1684. The earliest edition in which the two parts were combined in one volume came out in 1728. A third part falsely attributed to Bunyan appeared in 1693. The Pilgrim's Progress is the most successful allegory ever written, and like the Bible has been extensively translated into other languages. Matthew 25:1 Chapter 25 1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. Matthew 24:12 12 And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold.
